The Jack Guy Project has been made possible by the assistance and collaboration of a great many people and institutions. Herb Thornton of Mebane, North Carolina, made the donation of Jack Guy’s personal archival materials, which set this project in motion; that donation was coordinated by former NCFI Interim Director Evan Hatch. Funding and support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area, and the North Carolina Arts Council have made it possible to use the donation as the genesis of a wider archival and documentary project.
Many other people have been of critical support to the project as well. Among them are former NCFI Executive Director Joy Salyers, and the NCFI Board of Directors (Board Chairman, André Nabors); and project partner the W. L. Eury Appalachian Collection at Appalachian State University. Loretta Guy Clawson and L. D. Clawson, Rick Ward, and Shirley Glenn and Charlie Glenn, have all been exceptionally generous in sharing their time and recollections.
